President

Nikesh Shah, MBA

From large to small properties, Nikesh has spent more than ten years developing and managing several types of hotels spanning various flags.  As both an investor and operator, Nikesh has managed construction, created unique development strategies, and found countless creative ways to maximize guest experience and increase revenues.

Prior to founding SHMD, Nikesh worked for such companies as Marriot and Hertz, where developed his abilities to produce strong business models and development strategies, manage superior customer relations, and create unique training techniques.

An active member of the Asian Hotel Owners.  Nikesh has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Miami and MBA from Rollins College.

Regional Director of Operations

Jeremy Robinson, CHA

Prior to joining SHMD in 2012, Jeremy spent more than a decade gaining experience in all areas of property management, working at select and full-service hotels as well as a luxury special event hall. The results of his broad and diversified experience show in everything he touches — from his excellent relations with staff and guests to his ability to generate award-winning leadership for the multitude of properties he manages.

Active in the industry and the community, Jeremy sits on the Regional Advisory Board of the Choice Hotels Owners Council, is an Ambassador for the St.Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Chi Chi Rodriguez Executive Committee, and gives back to many local organizations including the Pinellas Education.

Director of Revenue Management

Michael Barton, CHA

Michael joined SHMD in 2012 with more than 25 years of hospitality management experience. As our Director of Revenue Management, he has consistently increased RevPar to optimize bottom line profits for the properties.

Utilizing the latest technology and industry trends to aid in the daily decision making process, Michael works directly with hotels to train management and sales teams in such areas as pricing & inventory strategies, marketing and forecasting. His operational skills have been instrumental in securing and maintaining business, ensuring stability and increasing market share.
