Nikesh Shah, MBA

President

Nikesh's extensive experience in hotel development and management spans over a decade, during which he has successfully managed properties of various sizes and types across multiple flags. As both an investor and operator, Nikesh has excelled in every aspect of hotel management, from overseeing construction to creating unique development strategies and finding innovative ways to maximize the guest experience and increase revenue.

Prior to founding SHMD, Nikesh honed his skills at some of the world's top companies, including Marriot and Hertz. Through his work with these organizations, he developed strong business models and effective development strategies, managed superior customer relations, and created unique training techniques that proved highly effective.

As an active member of the Asian Hotel Owners, Nikesh continues to stay at the forefront of the hospitality industry, keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Miami, as well as an MBA from Rollins College, which have equipped him with the knowledge and expertise necessary to succeed in his field.

 

 

Michael Barton, CHA

Director of Revenue Management

In 2012, Michael brought over 25 years of hospitality management experience to SHMD when he joined our team. As our Director of Revenue Management, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to increase RevPar, optimizing bottom-line profits for our properties.

Michael's approach to revenue management is driven by the latest technology and industry trends. He works closely with hotels, training management and sales teams in areas such as pricing and inventory strategies, marketing, and forecasting. Through his expertise and operational skills, Michael has been instrumental in securing and maintaining business, ensuring stability, and increasing market share.

 

 

Rachid Alaoui, CLM

Regional Director

Rachid, a seasoned hospitality professional with over 25 years of experience, currently serves as the Regional Director of SHMD. Overseeing several brands across Florida. Rachid began his career in the industry as a front office manager with Hyatt Hotels where he quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrated his exceptional leadership and ability to drive revenue growth. He later joined the Generation Companies as an Operating Partner and has since held various executive positions within the company.

Throughout his career, Rachid has consistently delivered results through commitment to providing exceptional guest expectations, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration and leveraging his expertise in revenue management and operational efficiency. He has also been instrumental in the successful launch of several new properties and has been recognized for his contributions to the industry through various awards and accolades.
